Whether you’ve been a business owner for a week or for years, the thought “there’s not enough time in the day” has surely crossed your mind.
Don’t worry, you’re not alone. It’s more common than you think, regardless of what industry you’re in.
After all, the smaller your team is, the more you need to handle yourself, right?
I know this because I’ve heard it over and over throughout the years, and also because I’ve been in your exact same shoes.
When I started my own digital marketing agency back in 2010, my team and I fell into perhaps the biggest trap for new businesses: we did everything in-house. We thought handling everything ourselves was a great way to retain control and maximize profit. Yet, it wasn’t long before it became our greatest problem.
We became overwhelmed with the amount of stuff to do, we were spread too thin, and spending time on all the low-level tasks that took away valuable time from the more important tasks. Plus, it wasn’t rare for me to work 80-hour weeks just to get everything done.
I tried to solve this problem by hiring employees and contractors, but I still spent a lot of of time training them. And even then, the results weren’t what I hoped for.
On the verge of burnout, realizing that I still needed help, I finally decided to turn to various outsourcing platforms to take some work off my plate by testing freelancers.
It was hit and miss at the beginning, with late deliveries or poor-quality work. I knew something was missing and that there had to be a better way to find expert freelancers that understood my needs.
I didn’t know how to qualify talent and how to communicate my needs properly. As a result, I ended up picking anyone who said they could do the job without first verifying if they could walk the talk.
Fast forward…
I’ve since created a streamlined process that I refined by working with over 400 freelancers and outsourcing 1,000+ projects over 13 years. I’ve finally perfected a blueprint for effective outsourcing. This is the exact system I still use to this day.
This system that has led freelancers to tell me they wish all their clients were so easy to work with. All because I have a system that works, and I know how to work and communicate with freelancers to get exactly what I want.
It’s even led Fiverr® to nickname me “The Golden Child. ” Plus I was invited to calls to meet to their CEO, and other executive team members.
And now I’m eager to share this system with you.
