As a small business owner, running a business is likely more important to you than running a social media page.  Between fighting for engagement, dealing with spam comments, and having to brainstorm constant content, no one can blame you for wanting to delete your accounts. But the data still shows that social media marketing is a powerful tool for growing your business.

The great news is that when you use an outsourcing platform like Fiverr, social media marketing can be the easiest thing you do today.  Whether you’re hiring a full-on social media strategist or finding experts for each individual piece, you can reap the benefits of a great campaign without all the hair-pulling that comes with a DIY approach.

Use Fiverr Freelancers to Define your Target Audience on social media

It doesn’t matter how great your social media marketing is if your posts are only being seen by people who don’t need your product or service.  Just as bad is reaching the people that do with a message that falls flat.  The key to avoiding wasting your time is hiring a freelancer on Fiverr to build out a buyer persona for your social media marketing (and your other digital marketing, too).

Buyer-Persona-

When you have a buyer persona built out, you’ll bring your social media campaigns to a new level. Imagine having a clear insight into:

  • What social media platforms your ideal customer uses
  • What language they are using about your industry
  • What questions they have about your industry
  • How to encourage them to engage with you
  • When they are online
  • And more

Building out a buyer persona is the most powerful foundation you can have for a successful social media marketing campaign. It can also be an annoying process if you haven’t done it before. Hiring someone on Fiverr to do this research for your social media marketing is a great way to get insights from an expert, though you may have to do a little legwork so that the freelancer understands your business and what it is that you sell.

Freelancers can get the Scoop on what your Competition is Doing Right

Ordering a competitive analysis for your social media marketing is a great way to see where your competition is doing well (and where they fall short) on social media. Knowing what kind of posts are connecting well will give you an edge to start drumming up engagement on your own profile. Additionally, if your competitive analysis shows that your audience uses a specific platform and your competitors aren’t on it, you’ll have those potential customers all to yourself.

Hiring a freelancer for this task will save you loads of time since you won’t have to hunt down your competitors’ social media profiles and scroll through them to collect the data that you need.

A freelancer might look at:

  • How frequently your competitors post
  • How many followers they have
  • What kind of posts are getting engagement
  • If they are running any ads

This data is invaluable when it comes to setting up a great social media marketing campaign and there are tons of expert freelancers on Fiverr who will gather a full report for you at a really affordable rate.

Hiring a Fiverr Freelancer to Optimize your Social Media Profiles

When you look at a social media profile for a business, you should be able to tell:

  • What the company does
  • Who they serve
  • Where they offer their services if they are a local business
  • How to connect with them further

All of this information should be readily available at a glance and easy for visitors to understand.

What kind of information are you currently including on your social media profiles? Are your profile pictures, banner images, and handles engaging and consistent across each platform? Don’t make it harder for your customers to recognize you.

If you are hiring someone from Fiverr to handle this area of your social media, make sure that you either already have a profile picture and banner ready for each platform or that you are hiring a freelancer that includes creation of these assets as part of their gig.

You will also want to include any pertinent information such as your url and location.

A Fiverr Freelancer can Create an Excellent Social Media Content Plan

Once you’ve spent the money (or time) laying the foundation for your social media marketing strategy, it’s essential that you follow it up with a stellar content plan. Collecting all the data that you have so far would be meaningless if you don’t use it to reach out to your target audience.

A comprehensive social media plan will lay out:

    • How often to post
    • When to post
    • What to post
  • Where to post

Hiring a freelancer on Fiverr to handle your Social Media strategy will save you the time and headache of having to sit and stare and a blinking cursor while you try and figure out what to say to your audience. Make sure that you know your brand’s voice and that you communicate it well with the freelancer you hire.

We recommend putting together a brand and style guide with examples of what you are looking for.  Having a strong voice for your brand is a great way to keep your audience engaged, but it’s a difficult thing to pass onto a freelancer, especially if you are a small or personal brand.

However, this doesn’t mean it’s impossible or that you shouldn’t try it out. Here are some tips that we recommend for teaching someone else your voice:

If you’re feeling uncertain about hiring someone to write your copy for you, but also aren’t sure how to tackle it yourself, consider hiring a content strategy that maps out what themes or ideas you should be posting.

Social Media Hashtag Research

Depending on the platform you are using, hashtags may be your bread and butter when it comes to gaining new followers.  Solid research will help you work out:

  • Which platforms to use hashtags on
  • How many hashtags you need
  • How often to post them

Guessing at popular (but not too popular) hashtags will only get you so far. Hashtags that are too general like #Business will leave your own business lost in the noise, while hashtags that are too specific, like #DogsWearingLadybugCostumes are never going to be searched for. Although, I’ve been wrong before.

Fiverr freelancers often have access to tools that help them with social media marketing, including hashtag research. With a little bit of information from you, they can put together a report with a list of strong hashtag ideas to add to your posts.  That saves you from having to do lengthy manual research or pay for and learn a whole new tool.

Hiring a Freelancer on Fiverr for Social Media Video and Graphics

The social media posts that pack the most punch are posts that have an engaging visual component. There are a ton of great options for spicing up your social media posts with images:

  • Behind the scenes
  • Mini-tutorials
  • Sales graphics
  • Infographics
  • Product showcases
  • Before and after

Now, in some cases you may have plenty of images and video on hand. That’s great! But don’t let that convince you to rest on your laurels.  Eventually, the media you have may run stale for your audience and you want to make sure that you have a variety of things to post. Posting nothing but products or photos of your staff, your audience will lose interest fast.

Here are some examples:

Hiring an expert freelance graphic designer or videographer on Fiverr or another freelance platform to take care of media creation will fill your arsenal with a buffet of great content to go with the posts that you had written. In fact, it’s possible to find someone who will both write your social media copy and create the images to go with them. Just make sure that they are great at both aspects of the work.

We want to especially stress the power of video when it comes to your social media marketing. Quick, eye-catching video performs well across the board.

Freelancers can Schedule Social Media Posts for your Business

When you’ve finished getting your content ready, the next step is letting it loose and putting it out into the world. You have a few options here.  The most basic one is to simply send out each post manually on the day that it’s meant to be posted. If you only have one platform to post on, this may seem like the obvious choice, but it comes with a risk. You may forget to post at all.

As a small business owner, it’s understandable that your schedule is full. It’s incredibly easy to let things get in the way of getting your posts live on your social media profiles. For some of us, it can also be a threat to our focus to pop on to a site like Facebook in the middle of the workday.

Thankfully, there are plenty of websites out there (including Facebook) that let you schedule a post ahead of time.  The downside there is that it’s a completely mind-numbing task to schedule out several social media posts and the more platforms you use, the more posts you have to schedule.  Outside of Facebook’s native service, these sites can have subscription fees as well:

Schedule-SM-1

By and large, when we ask business owners what tasks they would like to get off their plates, they say scheduling social media because of how time-intensive and unenjoyable it is. Thankfully, there are many social media marketing freelancers on Fiverr who are ready to do the dirty work for you. They may even be the people you hire to write your copy in the first place.

Obviously, we are big fans of outsourcing online marketing campaigns, but this particular task falls under our “must outsource” list for small businesses that can’t afford a marketing agency. There’s just no good reason for a business owner to be scheduling their own social media.

However, when it comes to social media marketing, there is one task we recommend you hold off on outsourcing through Fiverr.

Keeping the Conversation Going

While showing a freelancer your voice and approving posts to schedule can be done ahead of time, conversations on social media happen quickly and deserve a response. Since you know the most about your business, you’re better equipped to answer any questions your audience might have.

You don’t have to glue yourself to your screen, but setting up notifications or setting aside time throughout the week to speak with your audience after you’ve posted is a great way to build a community that trusts in your expertise.

The one difference would be when you’re ready for a Community Manager who can learn all about your brand and handle replies in Facebook Groups or respond with more broad answers for DMs and recommend people jump on a call with you for more info.
